Address by Minister Baird to United Nations General Assembly in Opposition to Palestinian Bid for Non-Member Observer State Status | The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs On Wednesday November  29 2012  , Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird informed the House of Commons of the Government of Canada’s intention to cast a vote against the Palestinian bid for Non-Member Observer State Status at the United Nations. Below is the transcript of Minister Baird’s address to the United Nations General Assembly from earlier today. Mr. President, Canada opposes this resolution in the strongest terms because it undermines the core foundations of a decades-long commitment by the international community and the parties themselves to a two-state solution, arrived at through direct negotiations. While we understand a final resolution remains elusive, Canada has long opposed unilateral actions by either side as these are unhelpful. The outstanding issues are too intricate a...

Prophecy Update

Image
From  YBIC-Randy http://prophecyupdate.com/ Dear Reader / Supporter, There are so many prophetically significant events happening right before our very eyes that it almost makes one dizzy just trying to keep up with it all. The Arab Spring has brought forth many regime changes in the Middle East such as in Egypt and Libya and as it continued into the Arab Summer, Fall and now Winter, we can expect even more changes. Earlier this year it looked like Israel and Iran were going to bomb each other off the map any day. Israel looked to the U.S. for help but we were too busy with what we used to call an election and pretty much put Israel on hold. This year has been the most exciting prophetically speaking since 1948, in our modern age. The Lord is lining up and setting the stage, moving scenery around and placing the final end time actors into their roles. It's as if the Lord has Bible Prophecy on a remote control. Earlier this year he hit play and prophecy move...

Will The Church Go Through The Tribulation?

By Grant Phillips -   http://www.raptureready.com/ featured/phillips/phillips95. html The Church will not go through the Tribulation. There is a distinct difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming. Some may disagree with me, and that is perfectly okay. Whether you and I, do or do not agree about the  Rapture, it will have no effect on our salvation in Jesus Christ. However, for those who disagree, I strongly believe that rather than my being sorely disappointed, you will be pleasantly surprised.   There are many differences in these two events as shown here:  ·         Rapture: Jesus comes FOR His Church.  ·         2nd Coming: Jesus comes back WITH His Church.  ·         Rapture: Jesus waits in the air for His Church.  ·         2nd Coming: Jesus comes to the ea...

False Ideas About Salvation

By Pete Rose - http://www.raptureready.com/soap/rose14.html Good people go to heaven, bad people go to hell. Not so! Paul quotes from the Old Testament in Romans saying, "There is none good... All have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory." (Romans 3:12, 23) Not a one of us can get to heaven on our own merits. Jesus says, "I am the way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by me." (John 14:6) If your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds, you go to heaven. A variation of the above. This is works religion, and it won't get you to heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourself" [God gives you the faith], "not of works, lest any man should boast." You have to keep the law of Moses (or the Ten commandments, or some other set of rules) to get to heaven. Nope, that won't get you there either. Paul in the book of Romans and the book of Galatians thoroughly re...

Repenting On Behalf Of A Country?

This Week’s Feature Article by Jack Kelley Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.” As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple. (Ezekiel 9:3-6) The principle of marking those who would be protected from judgment was first mentioned in Genesis 4:15 when the Lord marked Cain as a warning to those who might try to kill him for murdering Abel. It had also been hinted at when the...
